The Cat House (EFBC's Feline Conservation Center)
The Cat House is another name for the Exotic Feline Breeding Compound’s Feline Conservation Center. The EFBC’s Feline Breeding Compound is focused on preserving wild cat species. It does this through education, a natural history museum, and captive breeding programs in association with zoos and other breeding facilities.
The Cat House is open to the public Thursday through Tuesday from 10am to 4pm with the exception of some holidays. It is not set up as a zoological park with animals kept for the purpose of display. It is a breeding facility. Even so, those seeking to encounter servals and other wonderful cats will not be disappointed.
As of February 5, 2009 The Cat House had one serval. However, it has many other interesting small cats such as a caracal, margays, a rare clouded leopard, and jaguarundis.
